Requirements

Admission to the certificate and diploma programs of Great Lakes Bible College
requires a high school diploma.

Admission to GLBC's degree programs requires the equivalent of a Canadian university
entrance qualification.

Students with a general high school diploma can qualify for the degree programs by maintaining
a B average during the first and second years at GLBC and by receiving the Dean's approval.


U.S. Students
Students applying from the United States with a U.S.-based high school diploma are required to have at least a 60% average or marks translated to a GPA of 1.8 or a grade of C-for admission into the certificate and diploma programs. Students holding university preparatory credits will be considered for admission into degree programs and Advanced Placement credits will be considered for transfer within the GLBC program. Students from the United States must have a valid student visa which requires a letter of acceptance and evidence of sufficient funds or financial support for the school term. American students are encouraged to give at least three months prior to the time of desired enrolment for processing application procedures.

Mature Students
Mature students, i.e. at least 21 years of age at the time of registration, away from formal education for at least two years, and not having a high school diploma can be admitted conditionally. These students will be on academic probation for the first year and will be required to maintain a B average during the first two years in order to be admitted to the third and fourth years of the degree programs.

International Students
International student applicants should have qualifications equivalent to university entrance in their home country. Applicants whose native language is not English will be required to submit proof of their ability in English by completing the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The international applicant must satisfy Canadian government requirements for entrance into Canada as a student. Also required is a signed agreement from the student in which the rights and responsibilities of both the student and the college are stated. A processing fee is required of the International applicant. Six months are recommended for the processing period leading up to the time of desired enrolment.

Medical Requirements
Applicants for full-time studies must complete and submit a medical history form. Students must have a valid Ontario Health Card or equivalent medical coverage. American and International students are required to have equivalent health coverage or apply for same as soon as they arrive in Canada.

Christian Life Requirement
The applicant to Great Lakes Bible College must give evidence of a personal commitment to Christ and His teachings, and indicate a willingness to comply with the regulations of the college. The applicant will identify two references in his or her application form. These will be contacted directly by the college to request statements regarding the applicant's suitability for enrolment in Bible college studies.
